The Beginning 

It all started in 1972 when an Egyptian family business created a tourism portal ... that is when Sakkara Tours was born to be the cornerstone of Sakkara Group International (SGI).

Turning Point

1978 ushered in an evolution in the company’s strategy as SGI and STI Voyages formed a strategically planned partnership. Relying on the success of Sakkara Tours and the experience gained in the tourism field, STI Voyages was the perfect choice for business co-operation.

On The Rise
  • Following the partnership with STI Voyages, the company experienced an immense upsurge in travelers from France, prompting SGI to further expand its scope. As the next step in SGI’s development, the company created a transportation department and increased its staff to handle the extensive new business generated by STI Voyages.
  • Subsequently, SGI expanded its portfolio with hotel developments. In 1981, the group launched its first urban hotel, Sonesta Cairo, managed at the time by Hyatt Hotels. 
  • On the international level, Sakkara Tours diversified its market reach to include several countries, including France, Belgium, Japan, China, USA, UK, India and Russia.
Spreading Out
  • In 1989, SGI launched its first Nile cruiser, Nile Goddess, followed by Nile Dream and Lady Diana in 1992.  
  • To further augment the successes attained from the STI Voyages partnership, STI Travel USA was launched in 2004 followed by STI UK, STI India in 2007. Central Holidays Travel Group in 2012 and Mosaic Holidays, its most recent acquisition in 2014.

  • Since we were established in 1972, we continue to maintain a strong business relationship with Egypt’s national carrier – EGYPTAIR. Likewise, STI Voyages in Paris was nominated as an EGYPTAIR top producer for the last 13 years with a return that exceeded 60,000,000.00 euros. 
  • We successfully promote a variety of travel segments including recreational, business and medical.  
  • Our worldwide hubs are strategically located in the heart of five of the most dynamic, historical and culturally rich cities in the world: Cairo, Paris, New York, London & Delhi.
  • Our different offices are promoting Egypt as their first and most significant destination for tourists from all over the world varying from high-end, elite to mid-range tourist class.
